mission #4
Location: Black Rock Desert
Date: 29 September 2007
Mission: Experimental L motor rocket test.
Rocket name: Norbert
Mission Profile: Rocket to be launched from custom pad to an estimated altitude of 9600″ AGL. The electronic altimeter (Perfect flight) will record altitude at apogee and deploy drogue parachute. During this part of the decent Capt. Danger will remain inside the main parachute bay. At an estimated altitude of 1200′ the altimeter will fire a charge deploying both the main parachute and releasing Capt. Danger into the desert sky. The launch vehicle (Norbert) and the stunt monkey (Capt. Danger) to be recovered intact.
Mission results: Everything went as planed. The recorded altitude was 10,090′ AGL with deployment of the Stunt Monkey at the predicted 1200′ altitude. Both the launch vehicle and the Stunt Monkey were recovered intact.
The 490′ of bonus altitude is an acceptable variance and was not attributed to any performance enhancing drugs allegedly taken by Capt. Danger. Post launch tests prove this allegation has no basis in truth.
Capt. Danger demands an apology.
Mission Status: Successful.
